Euro NASCAR V8GP

Front-engined · Naturally aspirated V8 · Downforce 1/5

A purpose-built front-engined stock car for road courses: large, rear-driven and rich in naturally aspirated V8 torque, with modest aero compared with a GT car. It rewards deliberate braking and a patient return to power.

Slow it while straight, rotate it once, then use the V8 as the steering opens. Entry speed and throttle overlap are the two expensive shortcuts.

Symptoms this car reads differently

Pushes on entry
The front engine and overall size make excess entry speed obvious. Brake earlier and release into one clean rotation.
Steps out on entry
A hurried downshift or brake release can unload the rear. Keep the deceleration phase calm before asking for yaw.
Snaps on exit
There is ample torque and no need to use all of it at first touch. Build throttle with the steering opening.
Falls off over the stint
Sliding a heavy, powerful car spends rear tyre quickly. The fastest stint begins below the limit.

What this car's answers lean on

Compared with other Production cars

  1. Free changes — driving, not setup

  5. In-car driver aids and gearing used more than on most cars like it
  6. Anti-roll bars
  7. Camber, toe, caster
  8. Damper clicks
  9. Spring rates
