Cadillac V-Series.R GTP

Mid-engined · Naturally aspirated V8 · Downforce 5/5

An LMDh car on a Dallara chassis, powered by a large V8 that is the only LMDh engine without turbos. Glued above about 160 km/h, heavy and reluctant to rotate below it.

Calm the car first. Most GTP complaints are really about the aero platform rather than mid-corner balance.

Symptoms this car reads differently

Nervous at high speed
Above about 160 km/h it is glued. High-speed problems are usually platform, not wing.
Pushes at the apex
Below the aero window it is heavy and reluctant. Mechanical rotation first.
Runs wide on power
Balanced hybrid — treat exit as tyre and platform, not deploy.

What this car's answers lean on

Compared with other GTP cars

  1. Ride height, heave, bump stops — aero platform control
  2. Wing and rake
  3. Braking system — bias, ABS, pressure
  4. Damper clicks
  5. Free changes — driving, not setup
  6. Differential and engine braking
  7. In-car driver aids and gearing

What you cannot change on this car

  • This car has no adjustable ABS level.
