The Chicane, second

|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Carry a little brake to the apex · Drive Releasing the brake before you turn lets the nose rise and the front tyre go light exactly when you need it to bite. Watch: Too much and the entry goes loose instead. Add it a little at a time. | 10 bar | Drive |

Sits partway down No-Name straight, and is the only real braking zone on the circuit — the corner that stops the lap being one continuous arc.

| 01 | Carry a little brake to the apex · Drive Releasing the brake before you turn lets the nose rise and the front tyre go light exactly when you need it to bite. Watch: Too much and the entry goes loose instead. Add it a little at a time. | 10 bar | Drive |
| 02 | Brake two lengths earlier · Drive Most entry push is simply too much speed. The front tyre is already saturated when you ask it to turn, and no amount of steering adds grip it does not have. Watch: You will feel slow for a lap. Compare the exit speed, not the entry. | 2 lengths | Drive |
| 03 | Aim at a later apex · Drive Turning in early makes the corner tighter than it needs to be, which is understeer you created before the corner started. Watch: Costs a little entry speed and returns it on exit. Worth it anywhere a straight follows. | 1–2 car widths | Drive |
| 04 | Unwind, then re-apply · Drive A saturated front tyre recovers grip the moment you take steering out of it. Holding more lock keeps it saturated and the car keeps pushing. Watch: Counter-intuitive under pressure. Practise it somewhere you have room. | ¼ turn | Drive |
| 05 | Softer front anti-roll bar · Garage Lets the front axle roll and build slip angle, adding front grip as the car takes its set. Watch: Slower initial response; more roll to wait through. | 1 click | Garage |
| 06 | More front toe-out · Garage Cheap turn-in bite when geometry is the limit rather than balance. Watch: Nervous under braking and more drag. | 0.05–0.1° | Garage |
| 07 | Softer front slow bump damping · Garage Front loads earlier in the dive, so the tyre has grip at the moment you turn in. Watch: Transient only — won't help at the apex. | 1–2 clicks | Garage |
On this car: Front-engined and not light. Carrying too much speed in loads the front early and there is no aero to rescue it. Front-engined, rear-drive rookie car: technique leads, and throttle control on exit matters most; a low-speed corner, so aero is demoted; braking-limited, so brake tools move up; traction-limited, so diff and rear grip move up.
